Military Police Receives Reflective Vests from Street Sense

The Military Police of the Ghana Armed Forces have taken delivery of 100 reflective vests from the Street Sense Organisation (SSO).
The vests valued at GH¢22,620.00 were donated at a brief presentation ceremony at the Military Police headquarters at Burma Camp.

Explaining the rationale for the donation, Mr. Christopher King, Legal Advisor of Street Sense said the vests were meant to augment the operations of the Military Police in ensuring safety on the roads.
He indicated that road safety was a critical issue that needed a joined-up approach, saying “the donation indicates Street Sense Organisation’s resolve to work with relevant stakeholders to help promote safety on the roads”.
Mr. King emphasised SSO’s commitment to promoting public education, advocacy and training on road safety.
Lt. Col. David Addi, Commanding Officer of the Military Police who received the vests expressed his profound appreciation to SSO for the kind gesture.
He reveled that the donation of the vests marked the first time a non-governmental organisation has donated such item to the Military Police.
Lt. Col Addi expressed his outfit’s readiness to explore collaborative efforts with the SSO. “I believe there are more areas that we can collaborate to help promote road safety”, he said.
He assured the SSO team that the vests would be taken good care of and used for the purpose in which they was donated.
Mrs. Gloria Laryea, Member of the Board of Trustees, assisted by Mr. Christopher King officially handed over the vests to the Military Police.
Other members of SSO’s delegation included patrons and staff.
